Tresoldi Hat-Trick Stuns Inter Milan in Thriller

A sensational Tresoldi hat-trick powered Club Brugge to a dramatic 4-3 victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, leaving the Italian side searching for answers after another damaging European defeat.

The 22-year-old Italian-German attacking midfielder had a spectacular game, netting Club Brugge’s first three goals at the San Siro against the last season’s Serie A champions. His finishing and reactions helped Inter get the best of their defence, while the Belgian away side held out against a late push from the home side.

Former Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer made his debut for Brugge after 10 minutes, when he denied Lautaro Martinez. The early chance was denied to Marcus Thuram too as Inter were initially threatening to take control.

The breakthrough came just before the half-hour mark when Carlos Forbs fouled Hakan Calhanoglu in the box. From the resulting spot-kick, Tresoldi scored to give Brugge the lead.

Martinez played a move with Thuram and a backheel assist from Federico Dimarco, and Inter were just about to get a shot at goal when half-time came. It’s a goal which gave the home side hope again after the break.

But Tresoldi came back on the scene soon after the hour, and made the most of a keeper mistake before netting his hat-trick 15 minutes to the hour. His third goal came as he was quicker than Inter’s defense to capitalize on the opportunity to take Brugge’s lead.

“It was an unbelievable and fantastic night. After the match Tresoldi spoke of his many dreams of these nights and how this was the best.
