Man United Fans Face 5% Season Ticket Price Hike

Manchester United announced a 5% increase in Old Trafford season ticket prices for 2025-26 on Monday to address the Premier League club’s financial concerns. Men’s match tickets will rise by 2.50 pounds ($3.25), except for under-16s.

“After 11 consecutive years of price freezes, we increased prices by five percent for the past two seasons and intend to do the same for next season to offset continued rises in operating costs,” said United’s CEO Omar Berrada.

“We listened closely to the Fan Advisory Board’s strong arguments for a freeze because any price increase is unpleasant, especially during a period of underperformance on the pitch.

However, the club has decided that maintaining pricing while costs rise and financial challenges persist is wrong.

“We have kept the increase to the lowest possible level and protected our youngest season-ticket holders from any rises, while ensuring the club remains financially strong enough to invest in improving the team.”

United is 13th in the Premier League, and hundreds of fans protested its ownership this month.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) stated the current ticket price hike was “less than many feared” but regretted the club’s refusal to freeze prices.

“For several months we have argued long and hard that the club need to look at the big picture and freeze ticket prices for next season,” reads a MUST.

“Other clubs have done that already and at United it would have sent a powerful message about the need for everyone to pull together to get the club out of the very difficult position it finds itself in.”

Last week, United announced plans to build a two-billion-pound, 100,000-seater stadium, the largest in Britain, after cutting 150 to 200 jobs last month.

United’s debt, including 300 million pounds in transfer fees, exceeds one billion pounds.
