Luis Diaz Transfer Confirmed or not?

British media said on Sunday that Bayern Munich had agreed to pay Liverpool striker Luis Diaz €75 million (£65.5 million), plus extras.

Reports say that Liverpool turned down Bayern’s first offer of £58.5m earlier this month. But the Bundesliga champions have raised their offer, and Diaz is also pressing to play in Germany.

Arne Slot, the head coach of the Reds, decided not to play Diaz in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong because of the situation.

Reports say that Liverpool has let Diaz go from Asia to Europe in the next several days to get a medical exam.

Luis Diaz has become an important part of Anfield since he moved there from Porto in January 2022. The past campaign was the best of Diaz’s time at Liverpool. He scored 17 goals in all competitions and was a key player in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, when they finished 10 points ahead at the top.

At first, Diaz wanted to join Barcelona, and the Catalan club was also interested in him since they wanted to add to their attack with Lamine Yamal and Raphina.

Reports say that Liverpool rejected down Barcelona’s bid of about £65 million for Diaz because they wanted to seek for other options.

Liverpool has spent almost £250 million this summer to sign Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

The Reds want to sign Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle United, but it would cost a lot of money. Last season, Bayern won their 34th Bundesliga title, but they only made it to the last 16 of the German Cup and lost in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Diaz might be a way for Munich to attack, as they will be without forward Jamal Musiala for a long time because he fractured his leg and dislocated his ankle at the Club World Cup.
