Their ruthless superiority is rewriting European football history as the German champions.
Ragnar Ache of Koln got the Allianz crowd silent with a thumping header in the 31st minute but Bayern was quick and merciless in replying. Luis Diaz made it even and then Kane struck before the reverse and had an outstanding shot that displayed the confidence and skills.
The second half became a statement of Bayern’s superiority. Kane’s subtle header saw his total goals rise to 22 in the season thus far, which is an unbelievable statistic at this point in the season. Michael Olise topped off the goal after another sharp pass by Diaz.
The balance of Bayern under the manager Thomas Tuchel is remarkable. The team has demonstrated flexibility in all competitions that it has played in and it has been rotating smoothly without any problem in terms of its attacking rhythm that few teams can match. Although there was no VAR in the German Cup, the Bavarians were calm and concentrated.
Bayern appears to have an unstoppable momentum as they head to deal with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and PSG in Europe. The only question left to the competitors is not when they will drop off, but whether anybody can stop this red machine.
