Bukayo Saka will practice harder throughout the international break to be ready for Arsenal’s Champions League match against Real Madrid next month.
The winger is nearing the end of his hamstring injury recuperation, which has kept him out since December. The next few weeks will entail longer and more intense one-on-one fitness sessions, ball work, and team training.
“He’s getting closer, he’s stepping up and making very good progress I would say,” remarked Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta last Friday. “Let’s see how he reacts and how fit he gets quickly when we throw him in with the team.”
Since Arsenal will face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg on April 8, Saka is keen to return. The week before that game, the Gunners play Fulham and Everton, which should give Saka some minutes before Real Madrid arrives.
How Saka recovers in the last stages will determine his return date. Since Arsenal will face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg on April 8, Saka is keen to return.
