On Tuesday, both Chelsea and Al-Nassr revealed that Portugal striker Joao Felix has joined his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi Pro League team. Felix has signed a two-year deal with Al-Nassr after spending time on loan at AC Milan.
Al-Nassr shared a video of Felix on X with a short remark.
“Let’s win together…” “Joao Felix is a Nasraoui,” Al-Nassr said on X.
The 25-year-old striker stated in a video, “I’m here to have fun and win together.”
In an Instagram post, Chelsea also said goodbye to their Portuguese attacker.
Chelsea posted on Instagram, “Joao Felix has left Chelsea and signed a permanent deal with Al-Nassr.”
“We thank Joao for all the hard work he did for the club during his two stints and wish him the best in the future.”
Felix played in 20 games for the Blues last season and scored seven goals.
The deal’s money details were not made public, but British news reports say the move may be for as much as 43.7 million pounds ($58.17 million), with an initial cost of 26.2 million pounds and 17.5 million pounds in possible add-ons.
At the age of 19, Joao Felix transferred from Benfica to Atletico Madrid in 2019. He then went on loan to Chelsea for the 2022–2023 season and then to Barcelona the next season. In August 2024, he secured a permanent agreement with Chelsea.
Portugal captain Ronaldo will be with Felix at Al-Nassr. Jorge Jesus, who is also from Portugal, is the team’s coach.
On August 19, they will play Al-Ittihad in the semifinals of the Saudi Super Cup.
