After Manchester United’s 2-2 tie with Everton in the preseason, captain Bruno Fernandes called his colleagues “lazy.”
In the 19th minute, Fernandes scored the first goal for United on a penalty kick, putting his team ahead. Five minutes before the end of the first half, Iliman Ndiaye made the score even.
In the 69th minute, Mason Mount scored a second goal for Manchester, putting them closer to winning. But in the 75th minute, Ayden Heaven committed an own goal that gave Everton the draw on Sunday.
Bruno Fernandes of United was not thrilled with how the players played. He said, “We were a little bit lazy.”
Fernandes remarked, “It’s been important for figuring out how we want to play and getting the new players involved.”
“We didn’t want to end like this.” We weren’t at our best today, and we were a touch lethargic. We want to stay away from such since you can pay for laziness at any time.
Manchester United is having a hard time right now because their last Premier League season was one of their worst, and they came in 15th place. The Red Devils want to make their offense stronger, and signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo was part of that.
Fernandes added that the club is doing the best it can with the new players and the way the team is put together. He hopes they will get one or two more players.
“It’s getting better. But it’s not where it should be. Fernandes remarked, “I don’t want to insult anyone, but the club is doing the best they can with the money problems they talk about.”
“But it was evident that we needed more competition for the players who were already here. We needed better players to push everyone to work a little more to get to the XI. I think that’s what the club is trying to accomplish.
“We hope to get one or two more players to help with that.”
