On Monday, FIFA named the 2025 Club World Cup team, which included four Chelsea players. Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 in the Club World Cup final on Sunday. Cole Palmer scored twice and set up Joao Pedro for the third to seal it for the Blues in the first half.
FIFA named the tournament team, which includes Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, Enzo Fernandez, Palmer, and Pedro Neto. Fernandez led the team with three assists and a goal. Neto and Palmer each scored three goals, with Palmer receiving the Golden Ball and two assists. In six appearances, Cucurella kept three clean sheets.
Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, now at Fluminense, was also selected. The tournament team also included Al-Hilal custodian Yassine Bounou. PSG finalists Achraf Hakimi and Marquinhos comprised the back four with Cucurella and Silva.
Vitinha of PSG, Jhon Arias of Fluminense, and Gonzalo Garcia of Real Madrid completed the lineup. Chelsea, victors of the 2021 Club World Cup with eight clubs, advanced to the final of the 32-team event following tough wins over Benfica, Palmeiras, and Fluminense in the knockout stage.
After beating Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final, the European Cup and French league champions lost the final.
