Serie A will no longer be called ‘Serie A’ outside of Italy after a name change. The top Italian league will change its name outside of Italy, according to Lega Serie A’s CEO.As they start the trip “to regain international leadership,” Luigi De Siervo has gone into great depth about their objectives to raise the overall stature of Serie A through a variety of various channels.
Serie A has recently seen success, with Inter Milan reaching the Champions League final this year and Napoli winning the league for the first time in 33 years. The 54-year-old is now looking to capitalize on that success by developing a brand that is even more alluring in order to compete with major European leagues like La Liga and the Premier League.

De Siervo discussed their ambitions in an interview with the Spanish daily AS, mentioning among other things the renaming of Italy’s top division to “Serie A Made In Italy.”We have started the process of regaining our place as a global leader, he declared.”We are producing a better, more intriguing product. The actual match time is 66%, however, there is a 33% gap that needs to be more appealing, like with the movie theater’s cameras.
“We fight for people’s spare time with Netflix and Amazon. Our clubs’ success is not an accident; creating a top-notch offering attracts more investors. Italy is the league with the most promise since we have been the best for decades, thus money has begun to deal with us. The 54-year-old continued, “We need to upgrade the stadiums, but our cities are beautiful in their own right. Then, in the previous four seasons, four different clubs have won the Scudetto, which is unheard of in other nations.
“La Liga began its journey of international growth 15 years ago,”
he continued. “This delay costs us money. When we were at the top, we made a gamble on the Italian people, and as a result, we limited ourselves. Even though we have different ideals, we now see the Spanish model as a well-organized and functional system. “The race has begun; it is a contest between two leagues that are close friends. We have closer ties to La Liga than any other competition.
