On Friday, Everton manager David Moyes announced offensive midfielder Iliman Ndiaye will miss many weeks due to a medial ligament injury.
Senegal international, 24, went off in tears after picking up the injury in the first half of the Merseyside derby against Premier League leaders Liverpool, which concluded in a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
Ndiaye, Everton’s top Premier League scorer with six goals, injured his knee after accidently hitting the ground while kicking the ball.
“He injured his medial ligament. Not looking good. The length is unknown, but it will be many weeks, Moyes informed reporters.
Saturday brings Everton, 15th in the league with 27 points from 24 matches, to 12th-place Crystal Palace.
