Portugal’s Squad Announced: Ronaldo Remains the Star Name

Portugal’s team for their Nations League double-headers versus Denmark has not surprised anyone particularly. Roberto Martínez still believes in Joao Félix even if he is not doing as best right now.

The coach noted that the dynamic between PSG’s Vitinha and Joao Neves in Tuesday’s Champions League game against Liverpool started on the national squad. Martinez remembered noticing and experiencing “a special chemistry” between the two players, who together constitute “a high-level duo.”

The Portugal coach also mentioned Joao Felix, a member of the team despite the former Barca and Atletico Madrid star “is not going through consistent moments” in his career. The coach claims that the AC Milan striker is “a very different and special player” who should stay in the team for his performance in past training camps.

Portugal, which emerged first in the 2019 Nations League, will play Denmark in Copenhagen on the 20th in the first leg; the return leg is scheduled for the 23rd in Lisbon.
