One dead, seven injured in Italy’s Naples in the night of soccer celebrations. Seven people were hurt overnight in Naples as the southern Italian city erupted in celebration over the success of its soccer club, according to a local official. One guy died from gunshot wounds.
After Napoli’s 1-1 away tie against Udinese on Thursday night, the team celebrated late that night after winning its first Serie A championship in 33 years.
Hours later, a man died from gunshot wounds, although Naples Prefect Claudio Palomba insisted that the incident had “nothing to do with the celebrations.”
The emergency department where the victim had been taken after being transported there was vandalized, according to Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA) and other Italian news organizations.

Palomba stated that the police are looking into the death and that several of the seven people who were hurt that night had injuries from fireworks.
Naples authorities had taken many measures to try to control dangers to public order as wild partying was widely anticipated in the wake of the “Scudetto” title victory.
Despite the ban on fireworks and firecrackers and the pedestrianization of the city center, Neapolitans continued to celebrate all night long with these objects.
