Manchester United to battle Barcelona for World Cup-winning. When the summer transfer market opens, Manchester United will compete with Barcelona for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard.
After losing out to Joao Cancelo, brought in on loan from Manchester City during the second part of the previous season, Pavard is reportedly eager to leave the defending Bundesliga winners.
With just over a year left on his Bayern contract, the French defender, who can play either center back or right back easily, has told club executives that he has no interest in negotiating new terms.
Manchester United, who will also be playing in the Champions League the following season, has been made aware of this and is eager to bolster their defense with quality and experience.

Ten Hag thinks Pavard, crucial to his country’s World Cup victory in 2018, has the adaptability, talent, and winning attitude to succeed at Old Trafford. Along with his accomplishments on the international stage, the 27-year-old has won four Bundesliga championships, one Champions League, and one Club World Cup.
Ten Hag is still not impressed by his current right-back choices, including Aaron Wan Bissaka and Diogo Dalot, alternating throughout the previous Premier League season. Although both have made advancements, neither is the final product.
However, given that the La Lga heavyweights are also interested in Pavard, United may have to compete with Barcelona for his signature. According to estimates, a price of around €45 million would be sufficient to obtain his services.
