Manager Pep Guardiola revealed Manchester City are worried about striker Erling Haaland’s fitness for Wednesday’s Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur.
In City’s 4-0 win against Newcastle on February 15, Erling Haaland, who has 27 goals this season, injured his knee and was not named for Sunday’s 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool, which left City fourth on 44 points. “Tonight we will know after training,” Guardiola told reporters on Tuesday of Haaland’s Spurs chances. I hope so, but we don’t know. His mood is improved, but tomorrow will tell.”
Manchester City won the league for four years but have struggled this year and lost 6-3 to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, and Juma Bah cost Manchester City nearly $224 million in January, yet they have not yet improved the team. Guardiola claimed rebuilding City’s squad would not be his toughest issue; he has done so multiple times in the prior nine years.
“We’ve done it twice or three times. Not the biggest issue “stated. “Starting my managerial career with my workforce was difficult. I and my team proved we can.”
Since Kyle Walker left for AC Milan, academy graduate Rico Lewis has started at right back for the club, and the Spanish boss lauded him.
“He’s been great since joining the first team. He is a great defender but not good. “He’s smart and intelligent,” Guardiola remarked.
“His physicality is not like a typical defender in this country but he is really good, especially with the ball.”
