Harry Kane Recovery Boost for Bayern vs Celtic

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany believes Harry Kane will be healthy for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Celtic after he skipped training.

Kane suffered a knock in Saturday’s Bundesliga 0-0 stalemate against Bayer Leverkusen, according to German media. Kompany said he wouldn’t know if Kane would play until Tuesday morning in Munich.

None of it is negative. Kompany told reporters on Monday that we had very little time to heal and sometimes you need an extra day. Bayern was uncharacteristically defensive against Leverkusen, as Kane and other strikers dropped back to help the visitors keep a clean sheet and maintain their eight-point lead.

“We´ll see early tomorrow how he feels, but I assume it\’s nothing too bad — we´ve just got very little time to refresh and recover,” he remarked.

“We′ll see tomorrow.”

Kane was treated after a head-shoulder collision with Piero Hincapie before halftime against Leverkusen. Kane scored in the 2-1 win at Celtic Park last week in the first leg of the knockout round play-off. Bayern have not lost at home in the Champions League since April 2021.

Celtic were “always dangerous, but so are we,” Kompany remarked. We’ll try to capitalize on this home game. Jamal Musiala said Bayern had “no excuses” after Saturday’s top-of-the-table collision, despite the fast turnaround.

Nobody wants justifications. The days prepare us for the game, and we must play well. Musiala said we’re fresh and will provide tomorrow.
