Former Barcelona, Celta Vigo, and Manchester City City forward Nolito has offered his opinions on his time at Barcelona, his experience under Luis Enrique in the reserve squad, and his view on the club’s Champions League showdown.
Nolito was questioned whether he considered Barcelona as the favorites or if he thought Benfica may challenge them as they got ready for their pivotal meeting.
Although Barcelona is playing at a remarkable level, Benfica is a strong side, particularly when playing at home, he said.
“I believe it will complicate things for them. Barça is clearly at an outstanding level, but Benfica is pushing there in their stadium and we are in the Champions League. We will see what transpires, he said. Then the discussion turned to the younger stars emerging from Barcelona’s ranks. Nolito said he loved various school grads but especially mentioned Marc Casado as someone he appreciates.
He also commended Lamine Yamal, pointing out that despite his young age, he has been giving really outstanding performance.
Nolito noted that although it is never easy to play at such a high level for a team like Barcelona, Yamal is managing the pressure really brilliantly.
“I enjoy Casado a lot.” Aside from Lamine. It’s great to watch him performing. For his age, he is doing really nicely. Because at this age in Barcelona with the squad they have it is not simple to play.
