The Normalization Committee (NC) of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) issued a warning to FIFA on Wednesday, stating that the federation could face punishment for its rejection of constitutional amendments. A federation standoff ensued in January when the Extraordinary Congress unanimously rejected the changes proposed by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
After careful consideration, the NC concluded that the PFF constitution is in violation of FIFA regulations. In the event that the committee’s recommendations are not adopted, FIFA has threatened to halt any and all football-related events, including elections. For Pakistani football to remain stable in the long run, these changes are crucial, according to the world governing body of the sport.
The PFF has announced that PFF Congress members would meet with NC Chairman Haroon Malik to discuss a possible resolution. In order to avoid sanctions and ensure the future of football in the country, these negotiations are essential.
