Diogo Jota on Forest win, getting back in the goals and ‘incredible’ Salah. Jota twice gave the Reds the lead in the Saturday Premier League match at Anfield, but Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White pulled the Reds back. Mohamed Salah’s 70th-minute goal ended the game. Jota scored four goals in two consecutive triumphs for Jürgen Klopp’s team, who are currently unbeaten in their past four Premier League games.
The  international responded to Liverpoolfc.com following the game. The interview is below.

REACTIONDiogo Jota on Forest win, getting back in the goals and ‘incredible’ Salah
Regarding how the game took some time to get going before heating up in the second half…
Yes, attacking a low block when several defenders and opponents are around is always challenging. We were aware that set pieces may work to our benefit today, and from the start, the ball was there—it was just missing the finishing touch that we could apply in the second half. Obviously, their set pieces—particularly throw-ins—were hazardous as well. The most significant factor was that we won; they scored two goals and had more chances.
Regarding the challenge of overcoming Forest’s physicality from set-pieces…
It’s always challenging when the ball is in the box, the first contact is made, and then you have the second contact and aren’t really sure where it will be. Although difficult, we definitely need to work on it as those opportunities today have our problems.
Regarding Liverpool’s perseverance before the breakthrough came…
They are fighting for their very existence and to prevent being demoted. They naturally defend a little bit deep because they want to prevent us from scoring and gain those opportunities from set pieces or counterattacks, so it’s never simple. But winning is crucial, and we were successful in doing so in these last two games, which is excellent.
Yes, we had to answer equalizers twice. That, in my opinion, is crucial because it demonstrates how the team’s confidence in one another and in itself is growing over time.
On the value of forward confidence and whether or not goals lead to additional goals…
Yes, I believe so. I have stated that the initial aim is usually difficult to achieve when it doesn’t come easily, but once it does, everything seems to flow, and the outcome is what we desire.
Regarding Salah’s ascent to joint-sixth place on the club’s all-time scoring leaders list…
His scoring performance is amazing! Even today, I told Fabinho on the bench that he always finds a way to score. He always finds a solution, which is why he is so crucial.
Regarding the mood in the locker room following consecutive victories and the comeback to draw with Arsenal…
The team gains assurance as a result. We have faith in what we’re doing, and although we had a chance to beat Arsenal in the end, we could not seize it. But now that it’s happened twice in a row, this is the only way we can compete for the top spot in the table.
