The Saudi club informed AFP on Monday that Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his contract with Al Nassr until June 2026. Ronaldo’s contract extension has been agreed upon, but not yet signed. An announcement will follow in the following days”. Ronaldo turned 40 last week, and his contract expires until June 2025.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus player joined Al Nassr in January 2023 and has scored 82 goals in 90 appearances. Ronaldo indicated he will continue with Al Nassr till the conclusion of his career “soon or in two or three years” in August.
“But it´ll most likely happen with Al Nassr, in the team that makes me happy… and where I feel good.”
Two years ago, the Portuguese star transferred to Al Nassr in Riyadh for a reported $250 million, trading retirement salary for football anonymity.
He was followed by a parade of geriatric superstars to the big-spending Saudi Pro League, demonstrating his impact. In December, Saudi Arabia won the 2034 World Cup, highlighting its efforts to improve its image through sports, tourism, and culture.
In August, Cristiano Ronaldo created his YouTube channel and attracted 1 million members in 90 minutes and 20 million in 24 hours. The man has 73.5 million. While he may not have achieved World Cup triumph like Lionel Messi, the five-time Ballon d´Or and Champions League winner still holds records.
Ronaldo, who is closing in on 1,000 career goals, has only won the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr in 2023.
