Celtic dominate Dundee with emphatic 6-0 win

Celtic regained a 13-point lead in the Scottish Premiership with a 6-0 home victory over Dundee. Until Arne Engel converted a penalty and Adam Idah scored just before halftime, the Hoops were unable to get out of second gear. Following his goal against Motherwell and subsequent start in the starting lineup, Jota demonstrated why the club’s acquisition of him from Rennes was so thrilling.

His first goal of the match came from a wonderful cross that he put up for 27-year-old Daizen Maeda; three minutes after halftime, he scored again, this time beating Trevor Carson with a header.

Engels scored twice from long range and substitute Nicolas Kuhn added a third to seal Celtic’s crushing victory, putting Dundee out of reach and paving the way for debutant Jeffrey Schlupp.

It was there right from the start. Fantastic athletes. Passion and demeanor for the game.

Their strategy was spot on. We set some lofty goals. I was thrilled playing on Sunday and Wednesday. They showed remarkable team hunger.

I said a few weeks ago that they had us caught, but we had a fantastic defense. We were amazed by the quantity of people that searched.

It was “Daez’s finish” that Rodgers decided would be game-winning. Impressive polish. We were determined, and Trevor Carson could do nothing to stop us.
